The 2009 Teva Charity Challenge is a chance for
you to make a difference!
Join up for the challenge of a lifetime by entering your own team
and begin fundraising to help us bring smiles to seriously ill kids in South Australia.
In 2 Adventure and the Teva Adventure Series are very proud to announce their partnership with the Starlight Foundation in South Australia. The Starlight Children's Foundation brightens the lives of seriously ill and hospitalised children and their families throughout Australia.
We'd love you to become a hero and challenge yourself to bring a smile to a child's face at one of the most challenging times of their lives. We're asking all teams in South Australia to aim to try and raise more than $1,000 in sponsorship with all money raised going directly to the Starlight Children's Foundation and seriously ill kids in South Australia.
The 2009 Charity Challenge winning team (who raise the most for Starlight) will be presented with the prestigious and inaugural 2009 Teva Charity Challenge Cup. Our Charity Challenge Corporate teams will also be in the running to win fantastic prizes as part of the overall Teva Adventure series.

MOUNTAIN BIKE ORIENTEERING- A GREAT WAY TO GET READY FOR TEVA!
Have you lost direction in life? Are you looking to improve on last year’s Teva performance? Do you have trouble reading a map whilst riding? Or are you just out to have fun? If any of these applies to you, then Mountain Bike Orienteering is the sport you’re looking for.
Mountain Bike Orienteering, or MTBO, involves riding around a network of tracks using a map and searching for controls, much like the riding component of the Teva race. Participants go at their own pace around a set course, but pick the route that they think will get them around the fastest, so good decision making is a must. The maps show rideabilty and so you can choose the short single track or longer gravel road.
Events in WA are fairly low key and there is assistance available to newcomers from experienced riders. There are courses to suit all ages and levels of experience ranging from 10km to 30km. So why not come along and improve your skills for the upcoming Teva race? There are two events in the lead up to Teva:

AUSTRALIAN ROGAINING CHAMPS READY TO KICK OFF IN PERTH!
"Wandering West Rogaine"
Saturday 6th - Sunday 7th June 2009
The 2009 Australian Rogaining Championships will be hosted by the Western Australian Rogaining Association (WARA). WARA has been organising rogaines for nearly 30 years and has extensive experience holding events for large numbers of competitors. We think the WARA hash house is the best in Australia. Preparation for the event began early in 2008 and is now well advanced. The setting, vetting, administration and hash house teams are all experienced rogainers and have volunteered in these roles frequently in the past.
The event organizers have spent considerable effort in selecting a site which has something for everyone. The hash house site is conveniently located an hour and a half drive south east of Perth. The event map comprises 90% pristine eucalypt forest (wandoo, jarrah and marri) and 10% farmland. The topography is generally flat and includes both subtle and occasional well-defined features, thereby providing navigational challenges for all competitors, regardless of ability or experience. The vegetation is varied and generally a delight to walk through, especially the wandoo woodland which offers excellent visibility and little understorey. The setters have designed a course that will offer an appropriate challenge to everyone; the young, the young-at-heart, social rogainers through to those intending to push hard and claim the national title. Route planning will be important as visiting all controls is unlikely.
Competition will be held in the standard Australian Rogaine Championship categories, as well as a few WARA-specific categories such as family, novice, junior (under 18) and ultra-vets.
On-line entry is availableand will close on 27th May. Entries details and further information are available at wa.rogaine.asn.au/ozchamps.
For additional information about the event contact Owen Horton, phone 08 9450 7084 or e-mail waraeditor@yahoo.com.au
